US NAVY MKII AVIATOR FLYING GOGGLES 1941:
$295.00

Offered here is an outstanding and highly collectible set of original earlyWorld War II U.S. Navy MKII aviator flying goggles, dating to 1941—representingsome of the earliest standardized eye protection issued to Naval Aviators asthe United States entered the war. These goggles embody the transitional periodof pre-war to early-war aviation equipment, making them particularly desirableamong collectors of U.S. Navy and aviation memorabilia.

The frames remain clean, well-preserved, andstructurally sound, retaining their original shape with no distortion—animportant factor for both display and historical integrity. The center bridgeis clearly stamped “MK II PILOT,” a correct and desirable marking confirming themodel designation. Additionally, the goggles are maker-marked by the Chas.Fischer Spring Company, a known wartime contractor that produced variousaviation-related components during this period.

This set retains its original “lobster claw”style elastic goggle strap, which remains in good condition with properelasticity and intact hardware—an increasingly scarce feature, as manysurviving examples have deteriorated or been replaced over time. The facecushion has been professionally replaced to ensure display quality andusability, while still utilizing the original wartime brass retainer rings, preserving much of the goggles’ authentic character and period construction.

Overall, the goggles present in very goodcondition, showing honest signs of age and service without detracting fromtheir display appeal. Early MKII Navy goggles were produced in comparativelylimited numbers and saw active use during the opening phases of WWII,contributing to their rarity today. Surviving examples, especially thoseretaining original components and clear markings, are increasingly difficult toacquire.

Afine and scarce example of early U.S. Naval aviation gear—ideal for the seriouscollector, museum display, or as a centerpiece in any WWII aviation collection. All items sold are 100% guaranteed.
