I found these vintage folding rules in an antique shop in the mid 80’s. There was never any intention to use them and they have been on a display shelf since purchase. They are a reminder of a time when craftsmen used simple tools to produce quality items and were justifiably proud of their work. Both rules have developed a patina that only come with age and use. The wood has darkened in color and the brass has slightly tarnished. No attempt has been made to polish the brass nor clean the wood. I like to think they reflect their condition when last used. These rules are an excellent example of collectible vintage tools. I have enjoyed looking at them over the past forty years and hope the next owner has a similar experience.
