This listing is for an antique Standard Thermometer Co. recording thermometer from Boston MA. It is circa the late 1800s and stamped 1879. I included two photos of original advertisements for this instrument and it was for florists & their greenhouses to keep track of temperature changes. It has a solid metal body and a glass face pane. It has the original needle but does not come with the charts depicted in the advertisements. According to the ads these were sold out of a store on Shirley Street in Boston and cost $25 in the late 1800s. Do note that these ads are just screenshots for the listing, I do not have any of the print ads to include in the sale. The bolt & nut to \"lock\" it closed is likely not original and was added at some point in time. The instrument measures approximately 12\" by 10\" by 6\" and weighs about 8 lbs.
