Historic & Amazing Photograph
The historic Skyview Drive-in Movie Theater opened on July 8, 1949 in Belleville, Illinois and continues to serve thousands of movie-goers each year! In 1955, a tornado destroyed the screen and playground but both were rebuilt. Again in 1981, a windstorm damaged the drive-in but again it was rebuilt and a second screen was added in 1982. The Skyview is the sole remaining drive-in theater in the entire St. Louis area. Photo taken in April 2014 and is part of my personal collection of drive-in movie theater photographs.
