Uncommon promotional beer glass for Skipjack Amber, a regional Anheuser-Busch specialty beer introduced in 2007 and brewed specifically for the Mid-Atlantic market.
The front features the distinctive Skipjack Amber logo with a traditional sailboat incorporated into the artwork, surrounded by blue, brown and gold-toned graphics.
Skipjack Amber was created by a small group of brewers at the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Williamsburg, Virginia and officially introduced in April 2007.
The beer was named in honor of the traditional skipjack sailing vessels associated with Chesapeake Bay, giving the brand a strong Mid-Atlantic and maritime identity.
Unlike nationally distributed Anheuser-Busch brands, Skipjack Amber was developed as a regional specialty beer and was primarily offered on draft in selected bars and restaurants throughout Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky and Tennessee.
Skipjack Amber was a 5.5% ABV amber lager brewed with two-row and Munich malt, caramel malts and a blend of Saaz, Nelson Sauvin, Alsace and Hallertau hops.
Anheuser-Busch specifically recommended serving Skipjack Amber in a tall, fluted glass with a wide opening to showcase the beer\'s head and aroma. This promotional glass closely reflects that distinctive serving style.
Skipjack Amber is no longer a regular Anheuser-Busch offering, making original branded promotional pieces increasingly tied to the beer\'s relatively brief regional history.
