Condition notes: These are natural raw pieces. They are covered with black dust with clusters of dirt and black sand on it. The stones need deep cleaning before first use.
As packaged, stones appear to have a dull black/grayish color with a lot of black dust on the serface.When cleaned the true color of shungite will be visible. It is light black with natural texture made of clusters or quartz and pyrite. There are other minerals can be concentrated on the surface, such as iron, giving it sometime goldish rusty look. Given the approximate carbon concetration of 25-50% on average, some pieces may have more unique combination of elements and looks like very unique cluster of crystals. And sometimes even the high carbon % pieces may be discovered under the layer of black dust.

Shungite Stones Cleaning Instruction
Materials Needed:
- Soft-bristle toothbrush or sponge
- Bowl or container of lukewarm water
- Soft towel or cloth for drying- pair of disposable gloves ( optional )

• Step 1

Rinse the stones under the running water to remove exessive dust and dirt.

• Step 2

Soak the stones in the lukewarm water for 10 minutes.Avoid using any soap or detergent, shungite very adsorbant and soak in all the chemicals easily.

• Step 3

Use a brush or sponge to scrub the sufrace of the stone removing the remaining black residue.Avoid using any abrasive brushes or pads as raw Shungite is brittle and flakes easily.

• Step 4

Pat the stones dry with a soft, clean fabric towel or piece of cloth.Using the paper towel is not recommended as paper may leave some remaining particles on the stone.Leave the stones in a dry shaded area to air dry fully.

• Step 5

Check the stones for any black residue.If black residue is still present - repeat all the steps again untill stones are completley clean.
Now stones are clean and ready for storing, using for crafts, rituals or display.
In order to prepare Shungite water, some additional steps are necessary.
How to make shungite water
To make 1 GAL of shungite water - used 8 oz of shungite stones ( Type III )To make 1 Quart ( 32 fl oz ) of shungite water - used 2 oz of shungite stones ( Type III )
NOTE: if you are using Elite Shungite stones, the necessary about of stones for the same amount of water can be divided by 2. ( 4 oz for 1 GAL and 1 oz for 1 Quart of water )
What you will need:
Cleaned Shungite stonesGlass or ceramic container with lid ( no metal or plastic )Cooking potFiltered or purified drinking waterWhite vinegar or food-grade 3% hydrogen peroxideStove

• Step 1

Obtain a very clean shungite stones without any black residue of needed amount.

• Step 2

Prepare a mix of:- 1 part white vinegar or food-grade 3% hydrogen peroxide-2 parts water
Soak the Shungite stones for 20-30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

• Step 3

Place the stones in the cooking pot.Fill with plenty of tap water.Put it on the stove and bring the water to a boiling point.Boil the shungite stones for 10-15 minutes.Drain the hot water, refill with cold water, let the stones sit in it for a some time to cool down.

• Step 4

Gently place the cool stones on the bottom of the empty container.Avoid throwing the stones as they may chip easily.

• Step 5

Pour the water over the stones. Fill the conteiner and cover. Let it soak.

• Step 6

Infuse.Let it sit for 6-12 hrs if you use Type I Elite Shungite stones.Let it sit for 24-48 hrs if you use Type III Black Shungite stones.

• Step 7

Transfer shungite water to a clean glass bottle or container with lid.Best if used within a week from the making date.

• Step 8

Store your shungite stones. After removing the water from the container, take out the stones and dry it gently with soft towel or cloth. Let it air dry under the sunlight for \"recharging\".Store in a dry place, in a covered container or inside fabric bag.Stones can be used again for multiple times, hovewer, it is recommended to replace your stones once a year.
