Rare circa 1879-1884 Deere & Mansur Co. John Deere family advertising trade card from Moline, Illinois.
The front features a beautiful Victorian scenic chromolithograph advertising the Deere Rotary Drop Corn Planter and Deere Wire Check-Rower.
The reverse features an illustration of the early Deere corn planter along with advertising for Deere & Mansur Co. and its line of planters, check-rowers, drills, stalk cutters, harrows, cultivators and broadcast seeders.
Deere & Mansur was founded in 1877 by Charles Deere, son of John Deere, and Alvah Mansur. John Deere was still alive when this card was produced, making it an especially early piece of Deere family agricultural advertising. Deere & Mansur later became part of Deere & Company.
A scarce combination of early John Deere-related agricultural advertising and Victorian chromolithography, with strong graphics on both sides.
Measures approximately 4 1/4" x 2 3/4".
