An unusual piece of early Schlitz breweriana featuring the classic Schlitz advertising logo and a distinctive GRIP-TAP design. The piece is marked Price Bros., Chicago – New York, a noted manufacturer of vintage point-of-purchase, back-bar and brewery advertising displays.
Price Bros. was established in Chicago in 1926 and produced a wide variety of advertising displays for major American breweries. Their vintage brewery advertising has become highly collectible.
What makes this example particularly interesting is the GRIP-TAP format. I have been unable to locate another identical Schlitz example in my research, suggesting that considerably fewer of these survive than more conventional Schlitz signs and displays.
Condition: Original vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. Please examine all photographs carefully for surface wear, finish, oxidation/patina and other condition details. I have made no attempt to restore or refinish the piece.
A very unusual addition to a collection of Schlitz advertising, vintage breweriana, beer taps, back-bar advertising or Price Bros. advertising displays.
