This is a beautiful, highly detailed piece of antique German bisque jasperware featuring the iconic Münchner Kindl (Munich Child), the historic symbol of Munich, Germany.
This charming turn-of-the-century souvenir or utility mug features a crisp, matte white bas-relief overlay against a classic sage green bisque body. The central figure depicts the rosy-cheeked Munich Child wrapped in a winter hood, cradling a book/slate and a radish in one arm while holding up a foaming beer stein prominently marked with the letter "H" (reminiscent of the Hofbräuhaus).
