Rare Set Of (2) Post Mortem Daguerreotypes Same Person Man 1/4 Plates Close Up
Features: very rare set of two post mortem daguerreotype photos showing the same deceased man. Both close up and nearly identical photos with very subtle difference. Each photo is 1/4 plate and housed in the same period case, each circa 1840’s period. A couple pieces of paper with the photos and appear to make an attempt at identification but seem to reference a relation rather than the actual person. These will be included with the photos as found.
Size: 1/4 plate, each measuring 4 1/4” x 3 1/4”
Condition report: both plates appear to be in overall very good condition without wipe marks. Did not attempt to remove from cases and selling as found. Frames and cases with some wear. One case is complete, the other is missing its cover. See pictures.
