He was married to Margaret Graham Carmichael Wheelock, a prominent New York fashion designer associated with the Fifth Avenue couture house Farquharson & Wheelock, known for its wealthy clientele and connection to the Vanderbilt family.
This original stereoscopic portrait features two slightly different views of Wheelock, designed to create a three-dimensional image when viewed through a stereoscope.
