- Signature:The sculptor's incised signature"P. de Soete"is clearly present and legible along the lower rear trailing edge of the mascot's base.
- Weight & Casting:Substantial, heavy casting weighing in at an exact2.6 lbsfor the mascot alone. This matches the exact metallurgical profile expected of authentic, period hollow-cast bronze automobilia from the era.
- Finish & Patina:The piece exhibits an attractive, honest vintage look. The top layer displays a beautiful golden brass/bronze tone, while the deeply recessed details around the neck, eyes, and the front "M" plate reveal the underlying silver-toned nickel or chrome plating from its original factory finish.
- Casting Definition:The facial features, helmet rivets, and griffin details remain distinct. There is minor surface weathering, light pitting, and age-related wear consistent with a genuine, road-used automotive artifact.
- Underside:The mascot is firmly anchored through the center of the vintage radiator cap via a heavy-duty threaded bolt and nut arrangement, showing authentic aged oxidation underneath.
