Antinori Roma Italian leather box featuring the historic Medici coat-of-arms motif.Beautifully crafted in Italy, this unusual rectangular leather box features extensive gilt Florentine-style decoration and an impressive raised crowned armorial cartouche on the lid. Vintage condition with age-related wear throughout. There is rubbing, surface wear, scratches/scuffs and areas of loss/wear to the leather and decorative finishes, particularly around the edges and corners. The raised central crest shows substantial age-related wear and losses to its original surface/color. Interior shows age and wear as pictured.
These characteristics have not been restored or refinished and the box is being offered in its present vintage condition.Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the condition description.
An exceptionally unusual example of A. Antinori Roma leatherwork combining Italian gilt decoration with historic Medici heraldic imagery. An identical example of this particular design has not been located during our research.
