RARE Vintage EMPOLI Italy AMBER GLASS Apothecary Jar- Pedestal Base/W Lid
Size 17.5" high with lid. Without lid, the jar is 11" high. Opening of jar is 4" diameter and interior gets much larger at lower base. Round pedestal base foot is 4 5/8" diameter.
Completely hand blown, genuine circa 1960s
Features a warm amber colored glass with a SPECTACULAR, exaggerated teardrop shaped finial on lid.
This apothecary jar is quite unusual, in that the lid and the base have a lovely rounded 'ballooned' shape, with a narrower center. The center has 2 rounded bands- one at top and one at base.
Lid fits securely down into the jar with a wide lip
Excellent condition- without flaws. No damage- no nicks chips scratches or signs of use or wear inside or out. The tippy-top point of the teardrop finial has a slightly rough pinpoint at top, and upon looking under a magnifying glass, it is simply a little extra glass from the hand-blowing process. There are a couple of small air bubbles here and there which are few and far between and quite minor/hard to notice.
A gorgeous piece, would look very nice for display anywhere andis a generously eye-catching size. Makes a fantastic 'statement piece' size.
