For sale is an exceptional, authentic 1925 Art Deco German Traveling Cocktail Bar Set in excellent vintage condition.
This highly engineered "campaign-style" nested set is built on the historic 1925 design blueprints of German inventor Gustav Moessner. Unlike many heavily worn examples on the market, this set has been remarkably preserved and features an immaculate interior gold-wash (gilt) lining with no heavy tarnish, pitting, or plating loss.
Stamped "GERMANY" in clean sans-serif text on the bottom of the shaker and on the underside of all four nesting cups. This specific mark indicates a premium Interwar period set manufactured in the Solingen/Württemberg region explicitly for export to the US/UK markets.
The exterior chrome plating retains a brilliant, mirror-like reflection with hardly any scratches – there is on barely-noticable compression to the body of the cocktail shaker (you will have to hunt for it).The gold-wash lining inside the shaker and the four graduated cups is vibrant and intact.
The set includes the original light tan stitched pigskin leather travel cylinder. The leather remains supple, the stitching is tight, and both metal closure snaps function perfectly. There is some minor wear to the closing edge of the leather case, as shown.
