Rare and exceptionally spooky antique tintype portrait of an unidentified woman. Her ghostly pale eyes, stern expression, dark clothing, and heavily aged surface give this image an unforgettable haunted or spirit-like appearance.
There is something genuinely unsettling about the way she looks beyond the camera. Depending on the lighting and viewing angle, her eyes and facial features seem to change, giving the portrait an eerie presence that is difficult to capture fully in photographs.
The large tintype measures approximately 6 inches by 8 1/4 inches and remains beneath its old glass. The back retains antique printed instructions stating, “Do Not Remove the Glass From This Picture,” along with a Fulmer Photo Service label.
A signed Certificate of Authenticity is included. It states that the photograph was obtained from the estate of George L. Fulmer, longtime photographer for the City of Clearwater, Florida.
The tintype is in heavily distressed antique condition with substantial fading, discoloration, scratches, spotting, surface wear, worn edges, and deterioration to the backing. Nothing has been restored or altered. Its genuine age and deterioration are responsible for the remarkable zombie-like, ghostly appearance.
This would make an outstanding centerpiece for a collection of haunted-looking antiques, spirit photography, tintypes, Victorian photography, gothic décor, oddities, curiosities, paranormal items, or macabre displays.
No claim is being made that the tintype is genuinely haunted or contains a spirit. Its documented provenance and exceptionally eerie appearance are what make it so unusual.
Please examine every photograph carefully for the exact condition. Sold as found.
