Beautiful matched pair of vintage Chinese blue-and-white porcelain ginger jars featuring the traditional Double Happiness (囍) motif.Each substantial lidded jar is decorated in cobalt blue with an intricate all-over floral and scrolling vine pattern, stylized blossoms, and a classic Greek-key/meander border around the shoulder. The prominent Double Happiness character creates a striking focal point on each jar and is traditionally associated with marriage, happiness, and good fortune.The pair has a wonderful classic chinoiserie presence and substantial weight, making them especially attractive displayed together on a console, mantel, dining room sideboard, bookcase, or as part of a collected blue-and-white porcelain grouping.The fitted porcelain lids are removable.
