Pair of Antique Sèvres Porcelain Soup Plates – Château de Saint-Cloud Service (1846)
Description
An exquisite pair of 19th-century French hard-paste porcelain soup plates from the Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres (or in the classic Sèvres style). The marli (rim) features a rich blue ground decorated with a finely gilded frieze of palmettes on a dark blue background. The central white cavetto is adorned with a delicate ten-pointed gold rosette (rosace).

·Sèvres Date Mark: black printed mark “S. 46”.
·Château Mark: Red printed crowned mark “Château de St-Cloud”.
·Decorating Mark: Blue printed mark with King Louis-Philippe’s crowned monogram and “Sèvres 1846”.
Condition
Excellent antique condition. No chips, cracks, crazing, hairlines, or restoration. Gold gilding remains bright and crisp.
