I have decided to let go of this superb late war German helmet. I have two others that conform to the 1918 Ludendorff camouflage pattern, so this one needs a new home. This is one of the nicest examples of this type of helmet you will find. The camouflage pattern paint rates 95%+ and there is no rust or deterioration to this helmet. The camouflage paint is the typical Ludendorff pattern comprised of red, green, gold and the colors are separated by finger width thick black lines. The paint shows brush strokes and wear to the top of the helmet as well as the edges of the skirt and visor. The shell is marked ET66 and has its original M17 steel band liner with 2 of the original leather tongues in place as well as the original split pins. The pins and liner are firmly seated. Unfortunately there are no pillows behind the leather liner tongues and no chin strap. The soldier that painted this helmet took great care int he application of the pattern and the helmet has been well taken care of in the past 108 years. It would be very hard to find a nicer helmet in this pattern and if I did not have 2 others, this one would be staying with me.**This will be sent via USPS Ground Advantage and fully insured.**
