Long before digital displays and modern smart meters, instruments like this quietly measured the first electric service entering American homes. The included Arcman paperwork identifies the restored Westinghouse meter as a Type OB instrument patented between 1911 and 1919 and presented as “Residential Electric Meter, Circa 1920.”
The original mechanical meter components are displayed beneath a clear glass cover and mounted on a precision-cut, hand-finished solid walnut base. A traditional linen shade completes the warm, understated presentation. The three-way brass socket was designed to provide three lighting levels with corresponding meter-recording speeds, allowing the historic mechanism to become part of the display.
