BIG! Oliva miniacea f. saturata #3 68.0mm, Dautzenberg 1927,GORGEOUS BEAUTY from New Caledonia. Found in the sand by a diver in 30 feet of water, Arama, New Caledonia 2021. There were so many shells we could find by following sand trails in Hawaii---pulicarius cones, mitra strictica, terebras, bubble shells, the list just goes on and on. And always when you found a sand trail, the question was, \"What am I going to find now?\" It was like Christmas with a chance to win the lottery every day that you went shell collecting, maybe that\'s why it is so addicting! But the one thing we didn\'t have in Hawaii was olives, and considering the wide range and varieties of them that there are out there, that was a real shame, and a great disappointment. Because to date, since Kwajalein, I have not found an olive shell yet... but there\'s hope! Because olives are found here on the coast of Texas, so every time we go to the beach, I\'m looking, and one day---there\'s going to be dancing on the beach, and my sincerest hope is, that it is not Leanna who\'s doing the dancing!. And as the video shows, this is a big, gorgeous, glossy beauty with a dark, peach-colored mouth and a perfect spirethat will lookterrific sitting on your shelf!
The perfect shell for a first-class collection.
As for normal disclaimers, we do the best we can with photos, but color is tricky, especially since cell phone cameras automatically lean towards flesh-tone coloring, (that\'s why so many of the photos of shells on show up with more orange than is really there, the camera changes the color, and damm if I can figure out how to stop that from happening, but I try, honest! As for response, as your know, sellers live and die by the response you leaved, (please leave fives!) so if you have a problem, just let me know! After all, I\'m retired, and all messages go directly to my phone, so unless I\'m out shell collecting I will get back to you pronto-like!Shell collecting! Now there\'s a phrase that brings smiles to your eyes, doesn\'t it!Anyhow, if you have read this far, you have my apologies and best wishes from those of us at IslandShells323. And don\'t forget,Home is where your collection is!
