Antique RPPC – Winona Interurban Station and Post Office, New Paris, Indiana
Real photo multiview card titled \"A Little of New Paris, Ind.\" in hand lettering, with five captioned scenes of the town. The Winona Interurban Station view shows interurban car No. 53 stopped at the depot, with people gathered alongside. The Post Office view shows a crowd lined up along the front of the building, with a horse-drawn buggy at the edge of the frame. The card also includes the Methodist Church with its tall steeple, a tree-lined Main Street, and North Main Street. The Winona Interurban Railway\'s Warsaw–Goshen line ran through New Paris, crossing the Wabash Railroad tracks in town. Postmarked New Paris, October 1, 1908, with a green 1-cent Franklin stamp, addressed to Morrisonville, Illinois. The pencil message is a friendly note in which the writer says they are going to school and liking it, and mentions the hot, dry weather followed by rain and cooler days.
A strong piece for collectors of New Paris and Indiana topographical postcards, interurban railway history, or small-town post office views.
