Lot of 4 Vintage Wooden Slat Produce / Fruit Baskets
Authentic group of four old wooden slat produce baskets with wonderful rustic character and patina. These appear to have seen genuine agricultural use rather than being modern decorative reproductions.
One basket retains portions of an old colorful paper produce label reading “…ERS BRAND SWEET POTATOES”. The label is heavily worn and incomplete but adds great character to the basket.
The baskets feature wooden slat construction, wood banding and old wire handles.
Approximate size of the three larger baskets:
* 13” high
* 18” diameter across top opening
* 15” diameter across bottom
One of the four baskets is slightly smaller than the other three.
PLEASE NOTE CONDITION: These are old, well-used baskets and are being sold for their vintage character. Expect staining, discoloration, weathering, cracks, splits, worn wood, surface dirt, oxidation to the wire and other age/use-related wear.
One basket has a particularly brittle and deteriorated bottom with broken/missing sections of wood. This basket should be considered suitable for decorative/display purposes only and should not be used to carry weight. Please see the detailed photos of the bottom.
The remaining baskets also show considerable age and wear but retain fantastic primitive farmhouse character.
Sold together as one lot of four.
