Large lot of 103 vintage Mead’s Fine Bread advertising emery boards / fingernail files.
Each features colorful period advertising reading:
“GOOD ’N FRESH – MEAD’S FINE BREAD – SOFT-TWISTED”
These are wonderful pieces of mid-century bakery and grocery advertising memorabilia. Period documentation shows Mead’s using its “soft-twisted” advertising campaign by the 1950s. Mead’s Fine Bread operated bakeries in Texas and New Mexico and marketed its products under a common regional advertising program.
103 emery boards total. The lot includes multiple sizes, with the larger examples measuring approximately 6 inches long.
Also included is the vintage Wisconsin Homestead cardboard box in which they were found/stored. The box is included with the lot but is not represented as original Mead’s packaging.
The emery boards appear largely unused/new-old-stock but have been stored for many years and show varying degrees of age, toning, minor marks and storage wear. The cardboard box shows considerably more age and storage wear.
