Up for sale is a fantastic vintage lot of 4 hand-carved wooden figures, expertly crafted in Italy. Rendered in the iconic mid-century Romer style, these stylized folk art pieces feature mixed wood tones, expressive facial features, and distinct character designs.
The figures range in height from 10 to 13 inches tall depending on the character, making them a substantial and eye-catching set for display.
Included in this 4-piece lot:
Skier: Depicted crouching in a classic skiing stance, wearing a striped knit-style cap, scarf, and holding wire poles on wooden skis. Retains its original paper "Made in Italy" label on the underside of the skis. Excellent vintage condition.
Tennis Player: Dynamic posture mid-overhead swing, featuring painted white attire and holding a detailed woven racquet. Excellent vintage condition with smooth varnish.
Sea Captain / Sailor: Carved holding a small compass, outfitted in a black polo shirt, white trousers, and a captain's hat. Features a minor vintage repair/touch-up visible along the upper shoulder/arm seam.
Cricket Player / Batsman : Positioned ready at bat on a solid wooden base. Note: Shows damage/a break on the front bill of his cap.

Skier & Tennis Player: Excellent vintage condition with minimal signs of age or handling.
Captain: Minor visible repair/seam fill along the upper arm/shoulder area.
Cricket Player: Missing/broken visor on the front brim of the cap.
