Large Antique Wooden Box Made in England.
I think that this lovely old wooden box was made / designed to hold or store stationary items – pens, pencils paper and may have been for students. It has a lock, but I never had a key for it. There is a split / crack in the top of the wood but it does not affect the use of the box. I do not know what kind of wood was used in its manufacture. I bought this from an antique dealer in the famous Portobello Road market in the 2013 / 2014 time period while living and working in England. The size is 14 inches across by 5 inches tall and 9 inches wide.
