This adorable, vintage, Rochard, Limoges box has two angels with red, white and 22KT gold tipped wings, resting on their elbows, on a gold octagon base. The two distinctive angels are on the bottom of Raphael\'s \"Sistine Madonna\" painting, c. 1513-1514, which was one of the last Madonnas painted by the artist, and is considered to be \"a truly rare and extraordinary work.\" The clasp is a winged angel, and blue sky and birds are inside. There is a little age appropriate wear on the gold base and the hinge is very tight so the box only opens about halfway. It is 1.4\" by 2.7\" with a height of 1.8\". \"Peint Main -Rochard - Limoges France0\" is on the bottom.
