Description:
Original Imperial German World War I Bavarian Pilot Aviator Badge. Constructed in one-piece die-struck silver-plated nickel with a vertical pinback and period "C" catch.
Measures approximately 1-3/4 inches wide by 2-3/4 inches tall.
The badge features a flying aircraft above buildings and mountains within a large oval wreath combining oak and laurel leaves. The wreath is surmounted by a pierced Bavarian Royal Crown and finished with a ribbon bow at the base.
The reverse retains its original vertical pin and "C" catch assembly, both present and functional. The silvered finish displays an attractive, even age toning that highlights the fine details of the aircraft, landscape, crown, and wreath.
Condition: Excellent original condition. Exhibits attractive age toning with light wear consistent with age and careful storage. The details remain sharp throughout, and the pinback assembly is complete and secure. No cracks, repairs, or significant damage observed.
