This object is a unique decorative piece made from a naturally formed agate slice, known for its translucent properties and distinct, colorful bands of chalcedony. The surface of the agate serves as a canvas for a hand-painted Southwestern desert scene. The artwork features silhouetted figures on horseback, a prominent saguaro cactus, and other desert flora and distant mountains, all rendered in a dark, illustrative style. The natural warm tones and banding of the agate beautifully complement the desert theme, creating a harmonious and striking visual. Its raw, irregular edges highlight its natural origin as part of a geode.
