Here\'s a wooden Santa cradling a bear cub and a spotted fawn, with a husky, a hare and a badger at his feet. An open sack of wrapped gifts waits behind him on an oval base edged with painted pine needles.

The natural wood is given several years to dry first. Then the whole scene is hand carved from solid natural wood and hand painted with water-based acrylics by a professional artist, who signs the base.

ABOUT THIS SANTA
Five animals share this one figure, and each is carved in the round. Two babies rest in Santa\'s arms, a bear cub and a fawn that stretches its nose toward his beard. The husky leans on his leg while the hare and the badger gather around his boots. Look closer for the holly border on his hem and the red gifts tied with gold ribbon in the open sack. Gold folds and tiny stars cover the red coat, and the base is painted all the way around as pine boughs. Carving the animals and painting the details takes several days. Stand him on a shelf, a sideboard or a window ledge, and the whole woodland family comes along. A good gift for anyone who decorates in a woodland or cabin Christmas theme.
