Fake Godzilla from the 1974 film Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla joins the Toho Large Monster Series. A Godzilla emerges from rocks that flew from Mount Fuji's crater and fights Anguirus. Although it overwhelms Anguirus, an injury to its right arm reveals unfamiliar metal beneath the skin. Later, another Godzilla appears at an oil refinery, beginning a Godzilla-versus-Godzilla battle. As more metal is exposed, the impostor reveals its identity as Mechagodzilla, a robotic weapon made entirely from space metal.
The figure reproduces Fake Godzilla's distinctive head, bulging dorsal fins and extended fingers that hint at Mechagodzilla. Skin-cover parts attach over the metal sections to recreate an undamaged appearance, the right-arm injury from the Anguirus battle, or the more extensively exposed metal from the fight with Godzilla. The Shonen Ric limited version also includes interchangeable left/right arms to recreate the distinctive stance seen against Anguirus. Exclusive to Shonen Ric and the Godzilla Store.
