Vintage decorative plaster plaque reproducing Frederic Remington’s famous Western illustration “In From the Night Herd.”
The original artwork appeared as the cover illustration of Harper’s Weekly, New York, Saturday, October 9, 1886, Vol. XXX, No. 1555. It depicts a solitary cowboy returning from night-herd duty on horseback, with cattle visible in the distance.
This is a later decorative reproduction on a rigid ceramic or resin-composition tile—not an original 1886 newspaper page or wood engraving. The “Remington” signature at the lower left is reproduced from the original published illustration and is not hand-signed.
Approximately 12 inches high x 9 inches wide x 1/4 inches thick.
Condition: Vintage condition with minor surface and edge wear, small marks, light discoloration and age-related wear. The reverse has an evenly ridged brown surface with scattered marks and residue. No hanging hardware is present. Please examine all photographs closely for the exact condition.
