FANTASTIC FOUR LOT: 17 issues, #75 and #77 through #92 (June 1968 to November 1969), Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Original Marvel printings from a family collection, not reprints. Missing #76.

READ FIRST: #75 is incomplete. Its front cover is fully detached and the back cover is missing (photos 3, 6-9). It is included for the Galactus and Silver Surfer cover. Every other book is complete.

  • #75 and #77: Galactus and the Silver Surfer; #77 adds Psycho-Man.
  • #78-81: the Wizard; Wyatt Wingfoot guests in #80; Crystal on the cover of #81.
  • #82-83: the Inhumans, Black Bolt on both covers.
  • #84-87: the four-part Doctor Doom story in Latveria.
  • #88-89: the Mole Man.
  • #90-92: the Skrulls and Torgo; the Thing is enslaved and forced to fight.

Indicia checked on #77: Canam Publishers Sales Corp., 625 Madison Avenue, copyright 1968, printed by World Color Press, Sparta, Illinois (photo 12). Cover prices 12 cents (#75-88) and 15 cents (#89-92).

CONDITION. The flaws, first:

  • #75: incomplete as above. Front cover fully detached, back cover missing, tears along the spine edge, creases across the cover.
  • #78, #88 and #90: each has a split along the spine.
  • Staples: the centerfolds are held on the complete books, but on most of them the staples are starting to pull through. Handle with care.
  • #77: soiling on the back cover (photo 11).
  • The rest: reader copies in the good to very good range with normal handling wear: spine ticks, light creases, edge wear and cream to tan pages.

Strengths: bright, readable covers across the run (photo 1); #81 lies flat with no creases under side light (photo 2). Every back cover is shown in photo 5. Ask for a close-up of any book and I will send it.
