This ELEGANT 1880's cotton birds in the air quilt is all hand pieced and hand quilted, with thousands of triangle pieces.It measures 64" X 82" and is in excellent condition, with the occasional age stain (most visible on the back) and no wear. The quilt feels strong and sturdy overall.
There are straight line designs quilted throughout at 6-7 stitches to the inch.
The back and hand stitched binding are solid white, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to the light.
The DYNAMIC DESIGN, WONDERFUL EARLY CALICO FABRICS, and GREAT CONDITION make 19th century collector's quilt stand out -- it would make a terrific wall hanging!
