Early embossed tin tacker from the Thomason Brothers shop that used to be located in Russellville, Tennessee that is located in Hamblen County, Tenn. The building where this sign would’ve been hanging is no longer standing. However, this metal artifact has survived all these decades. Judging by the rim and tire on the sign, I’d say this is late 1910’s or early 1920’s. I’m unsure of exact year as it’s not dated. There is a makers mark on the bottom right hand side of the sign “Stelad Signs” “Passaic Metal Works….” The sign is oxidized from years of storage and exposure. Single sided, painted tin, embossed. Some paint loss, metal loss, extra holes, scratches, creases, and rust. Remarkable piece of Tennessee history.
