This is a wonderful handmade Day of the Dead / Dias de los Muertos Maraca with images of Sugar Skulls and flowers carved on the surface. Everyone needs a nice noisy rattle to celebrate the Day of the Dead! It is all handmade / hand carved in Pinotepa de Don Luis on the Coast of Oaxaca. This maraca wasmade out of dried and painted gourds and thenhand carved. This type of craft is typical of this area in Oaxaca. I have 5 other Rattles similar to this one see photo #6 or go to my store for a larger selection.
They measureapproximately: 9 incheslong & 4 1/4 inches across.
They haveshepherd hooks for pierced ears.
