Special pair of collectible wine glasses from French wine country. 12 inches tall and 5" diameter at the base
The Château de Chamilly, located in the north of the Côte Chalonnaise, 20 minutes south of Beaune, was built in the 17th century by Noël Bouton (lieutenant general of the armies of King Louis XIV, Governor of Strasbourg and Marquis of Chamilly) on the foundations of a fortified farm of the 14th century. At the beginning of the nineteenth century, the Desfontaine family acquired it and the land surrounding it.
It was in 1970 that Louis Desfontaine, a lover of vines and passionate about winemaking, gave up cereals and livestock farming. With the help of his wife Véronique, the estate took off and very quickly became a reference in the Côte Chalonnaise. His premature departure in 1999 left the reins of the Domaine to Véronique, who held them masterfully until the return of her two sons in 2007. Xavier and Arnaud, alongside Véronique, form a successful Triumvirate which is the key to the current development of the Château de Chamilly.
