Cathrine Enamelware is a renowned Norwegian brand of Mid-Century Modern Enamelware designed by Grete Prytz Kittlesen and Arne Clausen. This Cathrineholm Enamelware Covered Casserole with Handles in Teal Blue Lotus Design is a vintage two-piece set that includes a round casserole dish with a matching lid. According to my research, it was originally produced in Norway between 1962-1965 with the specific production of Lotus decorated items ceasing around 1965. This original piece features a flat-bottomed design, double handles, and is oven-safe. The casserole has a approximate 1.5 to 2-quart capacity, measuring 8 inches in diameter, 4 inches deep, and 5 inches tall. This iconic teal blue Lotus design adds a touch of vintage charm to any kitchen collection.
Mid-Century Modern is a refreshing minimalistic design concept that has remained popular through the years. Some designs come and go but the allure of Mid-Century Modern continues to this day with each generation finding it anew! And isn\'t that wonderful that it has become so timeless!
The thing is, there were only so many pieces made and being able to acquire one in such exceptionally good condition is a real treat.
This casserole has been lovingly used, please note the absence of utensil marks on the interior of the casserole dish. The only wear that I can see is on the very bottom from taking it in and out of the oven. It was never been used on the stove top.However, my research says that it is safe to use on stove top, ovens and induction surfaces as well. So you\'re all set!
