Case Red Imp No. 133 — 5/8 — Solid Red Acrylic
Offered here is a restored and custom rebuilt Case Red Imp No. 133 straight razor, featuring a classic 5/8” blade and a custom scale treatment that stays true to the unmistakable red associated with the Red Imp name.
For the rebuild, I paired the blade with a set of solid red acrylic scales. Rather than introducing a contrasting or elaborate pattern, the rich solid-red material gives the razor a clean appearance that immediately complements its Red Imp identity while providing the stability and durability of a modern acrylic scale material.
A white G10 tail spacer was fitted to provide a crisp contrast against the red scales. The razor was assembled using brass pins and brass pivot washers, along with a set of small ornate brass collars. The restrained size of the decorative collars adds a little additional detail without overpowering the straightforward red-and-white presentation of the scales.
The completed razor has a particularly cohesive appearance: vintage Case steel, solid Red Imp-inspired scales, a white tail accent, and warm brass hardware. Although this is clearly a restored and custom rebuilt razor rather than a factory-original example, the material choices were deliberately kept sympathetic to the identity of the No. 133.

As with all razors restored through Ye’Ole Straight-n-Strop Shop, the photographs are considered part of the description. The final edge will be finished on natural honing stones. The buyer may request a particular natural finishing stone when available; otherwise, the default finishing edge will be completed on a Japanese natural stone (JNAT).
