Each man is named and has signed the roster and each entry is also signed by Lt James L Baker, 23rd Wisconsin as witness.. The Report is approved and signed at Madison, Wisconsin by Mustering Officer Major Grotius Reed Giddings, 14th US Infantry. Comes w service info. .The 28th & 234thd Wisconsin were enlisted in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and service included the Vicksburg. Mississippi, and the Chickamauga,and Atlanta Georgia Campaigns. Colonel Colonel Giddijgs of th US Regular Army was promoted for his services at the Battle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.,and died in service of fever at Macon, Georgia in in 1867. .Lt JL Baker of Company D, the 23rd Wisconsin was from Madison, Wisconsin and served t1862-65.
