This is wonderful antique needlework sampler, made in France. It combines woolwork cross stitch (alphabets, birds, flowers) with darning, stitched with red cotton thread. At the back it is finished with pink cloth.
It measures approximately 15 x 15 1/2 inches or 38 x 39.5 cm.
The needlework has some thread loss. The cloth is somewhat discolored, has some light spots on it and one small hole. Please see photos.
