Striking antique Victorian panoramic picture frame displaying four colorful period chromolithograph-style cards/prints featuring children, winter scenes, birds and animals.The frame appears consistent with the late 19th-century Eastlake / Aesthetic Movement tradition, with an ebonized black finish, inset gold-tone liner and delicate stylized gilt floral/leaf decoration around the border. Its unusually long horizontal format makes it a very decorative piece for a Victorian, Eastlake, Aesthetic Movement, antique gallery wall or period interior.Displayed beneath glass are four small illustrated cards/prints, each individually positioned against a deep burgundy mat. Subjects include a child in an orange winter cape with skis and an owl, a young military-style figure, a girl carrying a large basket, and a fashionably dressed young woman surrounded by flying birds. The pale blue, cream, gold, pink and orange coloring contrasts beautifully with the burgundy background and black-and-gold frame.The four illustrations are held in place with small transparent corner mounts, giving them an almost floating appearance above the mat.We have not removed the illustrations and cannot examine their backs, so we are describing them conservatively as chromolithograph-style cards/prints rather than definitively identifying them as postcards or advertising trade cards.Approximate visible interior display opening is 20 1/2" x 8", excluding the rounded/curved corners. Overall frame is approximately 23 1/2" long and roughly 11" high. Please refer to the measurement photos for the most accurate dimensions.The reverse remains paper sealed and has not been opened or disturbed by us. An old handwritten notation reading “No. 305” appears on the backing. Its original significance is unknown. Good antique decorative condition considering age. The frame retains a strong overall black-and-gold presentation with expected age-related surface wear, scratches, small chips and scattered finish/paint loss. There is wear at several corners and edges, including one area that appears to have received an older dark marker or similar touch-up. The gilt inner border also shows normal age-related wear.The burgundy mat and four illustrations display attractively. Glass may show reflections or glare in the photographs. The sealed backing has not been opened, and the cards/prints have not been removed or examined from the reverse. Please review all photos closely for condition and details.DISCLOSURE:
