Stunning antique polychrome black transferware plate, manufactured in Staffordshire, England during the early 1800s. This kind of plate was achieved by combining printing and painted techniques, printed in black underglaze with overglaze enameling in several colors. The plate rim has also been enameled in brown. Chinese, Asian pattern . Underglaze blue star mark, and several number on the bottom. Great antique condition, there is a flea bit on the underside of the rim, a very light hair crazing on the bottom, light staining and missing enamel on the rim. Otherwise, no chips, cracks or repairs. Please see the pictures as they are part of my description.
It measures approximately 9 3/8” in diameter.
