Stamfordham was a British Armyofficer and courtier. He was Private Secretary to Queen Victoriaduring the last few years of her reign, King Edward VII and to King George Vduring most of his reign. He was the maternal grandfather of Lord Adeane, Private Secretary to Queen Elizabeth IIfrom 1953 to 1972.
