Antique Royal Tichelaar Makkum Delft Birdcage Trompe L'oeil Plaque for sale

Authentic Delftware wall plaque by Royal Tichelaar Makkum, the renowned Dutch pottery founded in 1572. This hand-painted ceramic plaque features a charming birdcage motif with perched bird, rendered in traditional yet colorful Makkum Delft style.

The plaque is signed on the back with the Makkum mark, glazed, and finished with a hanging wire. Unlike typical blue-and-white Delft, this piece showcases polychrome decoration, which is especially collectible and decorative.

This is a solid, substantial ceramic, not thin or mass-produced, with beautiful painterly brushwork and strong visual presence.

The general dimensions are 10” X 10” X 0.5 “
