Antique Lace Collar Venetian Venise Regency Cottagecore Coquette Capelet 1900sHandmade lace from the 1890s-1910s, placing it in the Victorian to Edwardian era.
collar is made from cotton with a very complicated pattern of flowers, swirls and open bridge work.
note the matte finish compared to contemporary lace, the cotton makes it so much less shiny.
the neck is a delicate 14".
from there it flares out greatly.
the bottom edge reaches an impressive 38".
imagine showing up for tea with that!
this has no closures as it was meant to move from outfit to outfit much like a necklace or belt-it was a fashion accessory, not tied to a particular piece of clothing.
there are some broken bridges/brides.
there are no actual holes, just the occasional snapped thread, not noticeable unless searched out.
this is handmade with a bit of asymmetricality to it if you fold it in half so the designs do not 100% match but are gosh close!
this has discoloration that will most likely come out with a soaking
