Antique Japanese antimony metal trinket or cigarette box. Crafted during the late Taisho to early Showa era for the Western export market, this charming footed casket box highlights the masterful mold-casting work synonymous with early 20th-century Japanese metalwork hubs. The metal alloy structure is sound, rigid, and free from any fractures, structural bends, or solder repairs. Over time, the original bright decorative surface flash plating has worn away naturally, revealing a stunningly deep, rich, and heavily darkened copper-bronze patina. The lid hinge operates smoothly and closes flush. Measures approximately 3.5\"x4\"x2\".
