Antique Hand Painted Nippon Covered Salt Cellars Dips Set of 3 Lidded 1891-1921
Up for sale is a beautiful matching set of three (3) authentic antique porcelain covered salt cellars (individual salt dips) featuring the historic blue "Hand Painted NIPPON" backstamp. Based on this origin mark, this set dates precisely between 1891 and 1921, making them over 100 years old.
Design & Craftsmanship: These elegant pieces feature a brilliant, bright white shiny glaze on the main bodies and lids, accented by a classic gold-gilt trim along the rims. In keeping with authentic period manufacturing, the inner lip bevel of the jars, the rims of the lids, and the entire flat undersides are finished in unglazed bright white bisque porcelain to prevent fusing during kiln firing.
Dimensions:Each salt cellar measures approximately 1 and 3/4 inches in diameter and stands 1 inch high (measured without the lid on).
Condition Report:Excellent antique condition overall. The porcelain bodies, including the delicate unglazed contact rims, are entirely free of chips, cracks, hairline fractures, or flea bites. There is some minor, honest age-related wear to the gold trim, which is completely expected for functional tableware of this era. Please review the photos carefully to verify the condition details.
