Offering a highly desirable authentic antique Victorian/Edwardian 7.5" German spun cotton (cotton batting) Father Christmas /Belsnickle holiday Father tree Ornament circa 1890–1910.
The lovely ornament was made with cotton batting over a flat cardboard core. The front of the figure features a chromolithograph paper scrap face showcasing St. Nicholas in a deep red hood. He holds a charming die-cut green winter pine tree dusted with frosty snow. The winter cloak is accented down the front with three pressed Dresden paper rosettes acting as coat buttons.
Very nice condition with age appropriate wear, as shown.
Perfect for a feather tree or could be propped in an antique dollhouse.
