An authentic late 19th- to early 20th-century antique German bisque novelty porcelain figurine.
This charming piece depicts two toddlers seated back-to-back on a shared chamber pot vessel, one Black child and one white child, each modeled in nightshirts and sleep bonnets accented with pastel blue enamel and delicate gilt trim. Figurines of this genre were popular novelty conversation pieces produced in Thuringia, Germany.
